GETTING TO KNOW Bahaar Dhawan Rohatgi

Curator's Note

"Bahaar Dhawan Rohatgi is a self-taught artist, who left a flourishing career in law at Amarchand Mangaldas, where she was a Senior Associate to follow her passion and dreams. Her artworks are an amalgam of different disciplines and mediums of painting from figurative to abstract, watercolour to acrylic. We chose her for the passion and commitment that lies behind the creating of her artwork. Bahaar draws on the freedom of an artist detached from constraints of definitions and boundaries. Much of her artwork are inspired and guided by an oneiric quality, gleaned from the night-time world of dreams, dusk-time owls, the mystery in the cosmos and the universe. Additional to her command over colour Bahaar burns resin and reduces rubber together to give a structural effect on the canvas/ boards to give a structural effect on the canvas/ boards. Her works are part of several prestigious private collections, including American, Swedish Nationals and NRIs based in Geneva."
